Colours 2025

We had our annual trip to the Colours wargame show this year at Newbury. As usual, many traders were visited and much money was spent. I was able to get to the Last Valley before they sold out of everything.

The best surprise of the show was coming across these figures for £3/figure:

They are very nicely painted, and just need basing. They are enough to provide almost two armies for Saga: Age of Crusades, plus a Norman army for Saga: Age of Vikings. The Normans could do with some extra horses, and the Crusaders need some Levie, but they do give me an instant all-Hearthguard Ordensstaat army (not the most efficient, but usable) and a good start on a Crusader army.

They also had some Arabic troops, and I now wish I’d got them as well. I didn’t, because I couldn’t check the equipment options on the Arabic factions in Age of Crusades (bows? javelins? mounted?) and didn’t want to be left with lots of figures I wouldn’t be using. Plus, I already had a Moors starter pack pre-ordered which I was collecting from Gripping Beast.

General Photos

Photos are provided untagged, because I had my hands full of stuff whilst also trying to take photos so didn’t record what most of there were.
